Three dead in early-morning gun violence

Three men were killed early Saturday in Philadelphia in separate shootings, police said.

The first occurred about 12:30 a.m. in a bar on the 2000 block of Dennie Street in Nicetown. Officers found a man inside, shot once in his back near his left shoulder.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 1 a.m. Police did not release his name, or those of the other victims, pending notification of family.

Another man was shot once in the chest just before 1 a.m. on the 600 block of Spring Garden Street, on the edge of Northern Liberties. The victim, 21, was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:09 a.m.

A third victim was shot about 2:30 a.m. in West Philadelphia. The 24-year-old man was found lying on the front steps of a house on the 5900 block of Addison Street when officers arrived. He had been shot in the head and torso and was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:50.

No arrests have been made in the three killings, and no description was released for any of the shooters.
