Employment training program

NEWTOWN A metal fabrication training program is being offered to unemployed or underemployed residents of Bucks County through a Community Development Block Grant provided by the Bucks County commissioners.

The program was developed to train prequalified individuals to fill positions in metal manufacturing companies in Bucks County. Information sessions on the program are scheduled for June 3 at the Bucks County Community College Newtown Campus Solarium, 275 Swamp Rd., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and on June 4 at the BCCC Lower Bucks Campus Atrium, 1304 Veterans Highway, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The training program is 12 weeks long, and attendance is four days per week in class and one day a week off-site for manufacturing facility tours and field trips. The training sessions will start in July and be held at the college's Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, 310 George Patterson Blvd., Bristol.
