Chester County artist to hold traveling show
Local artist to hold Pa. Capitol show
A professional artist who spent most of his life in Chester County hopes to take his art show "We the People" across the country, starting with the Pennsylvania Capitol Building on June 10.
Bruce Coyle will display his artwork, including paintings of Benjamin Franklin and George Washington, in the East Wing of the Rotunda in Harrisburg from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the one-day show. He said he hopes his art inspires the public to participate more in government and reminds people of the cooperation that founded the country.
Signed prints will be available and some of the work will be for sale throughout the day. A reception for the public and state employees starts at 4 p.m. The office of State Sen. Chuck McIlhinney (R., Bucks) invited Coyle to display his work in Harrisburg.
Coyle said he hopes to head to Philadelphia next and to add artwork as he travels. - Michaelle Bond
