Memorial service set for fallen Delco officer

DELAWARE COUNTY

Memorial service for officer

MEDIA The Delaware County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation will honor Officer Edward A. Wehe III at its 17th annual memorial service to remember fallen law enforcement officers on Wednesday.

The service and wreath-laying ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Rose Tree Park on Route 252 in Media. The public is invited.

Wehe, a Delaware County Courthouse and Park Police officer, suffered a heart attack shortly after clearing the scene of a protest at the Delaware County Prison. He was also a part-time Marcus Hook police officer and U.S. Navy veteran.

The memorial monument was dedicated in March 2002. Wehe is the 41st officer from the county to be memorialized.
