Police looking for family friend in slaying of teen

POLICE yesterday were looking for a family friend who they say pulled the trigger in the shooting death Sunday of a 17-year-old high school student in Spring Garden, 6ABC News reported last night.

The victim, Antonio "Joey" Flores, was shot in the head at point-blank range in a third-floor apartment on Wallace Street near 16th about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital shortly before 4 p.m.

A murder warrant was issued yesterday for Sergio Santiago, 22, a family friend, the station reported.

Flores' sister, Wendy Aviles, told the station that Santiago was "someone who was raised with us, someone we've known for all of our lives."

Philadelphia Police Capt. James Clark told the station that investigators "know what happened, but we don't know why it happened."
