SOUTHAMPTON A support group for male breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families will hold a special meeting April 10 at Holy Redeemer Women's HealthCare in Southampton.
Male breast cancer afflicts about one in 1,000 men, often causing patients to feel isolated because of the rarity of the disease.
The Bucks County Breast Friend's Support Group is sponsoring the meeting, which will include guest Richard Schumeyer, a male breast cancer survivor.
The meeting is from 7 to 9 p.m. Anyone interested in attending should contact Anne Clark at 215-539-3010 or email@example.com.
Doctors are expected to diagnose about 2,360 new cases of invasive male breast cancer in the United States this year, and about 430 men will die, according to the American Cancer Society.
