Delaware County Republicans announce endorsements

Republicans announce endorsements

UPPER DARBY The Delaware County Republican Party announced its endorsements this week for the 163d and 164th Legislative Districts.

Jamie Santora, an Upper Darby Councilman, received the party's endorsement to replace longtime Republican Rep. Nicholas Micozzie. Micozzie announced last month that he will retire at the end of his term.

The Delaware County Republicans also endorsed Saud Siddiqui in the 164th district. Siddiqui, CEO of the Upper Darby Caring Foundation, will run for the seat now held by Rep. Margo Davidson. The first woman, Democrat and African American to represent her district, Davidson will also face a challenge in the Democratic primary this year.

Santora and Saud were the only Republican candidates who sought the county party's endorsement in their districts, said spokesman Pete Peterson.
