Free emergency training to be offered in Chester County

Free emergency training offered

COATESVILLE Chester County is offering free emergency response training with a course that will run from March 24 to April 12.

Designed to prepare residents to handle catastrophic events before emergency personnel arrive, community emergency response team (CERT) training will require a total of 28 hours of training divided into eight sessions.

The classes, limited to 30 people, are scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, with no class on Thursday, March 20, and a final class on April 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Deadline for registration is March 13.

Topics will include fire safety, medical operations, light search and rescue, and disaster psychology.

The sessions are set for the Chester County Public Safety Training campus, 137 Modena Rd., Coatesville, Pa., 19320.
