Montco chief detective to retire
On March 28, the day the retirement is effective, the deputy chief county detective, Samuel J. Gallen, will be sworn in to the top spot.
"I'm delighted Sam Gallen accepted the appointment as chief county detective," Ferman said. "I think he will do a stellar job."
Justice had been with the detective bureau from December 1986 until he retired in 2006. He and Ferman worked together when he was the deputy chief detective and she was the second-in-command to District Attorney Bruce L. Castor Jr.
Justice helped improve the bureau's operational efficiency, Ferman said. - Carolyn Davis
