Interim managers take over two posts in Lower Merion

Interim managers take over posts

LOWER MERION Lower Merion Township Manager Douglas S. Cleland, 62, will retire Friday after 11 years in that post. Robert E. Duncan, director of the building and planning department, will become the interim township manager.

Duncan, 56, will step in as the township searches for a permanent replacement.

Chief Financial Officer Dean J. Dortone, 49, is to be the interim assistant township manager. He follows Pat Ryan, who retired in May. Ryan's position has been vacant since then.

"I'm very pleased and grateful that Bob and Dean have agreed to step up and take on this added responsibility while the board completes its recruitment process," Commissioners President Elizabeth S. Rogan said. - Carolyn Davis
