Local writers to speak at Press Club luncheon


Local notables to speak at Press Club luncheon in Wayne

WAYNE Two guest speakers at Wednesday's Press Club luncheon in Wayne may be of interest to the general public.

April "Ape" Margera is best known as the mother of Bam Margera, of the MTV series Jackass and Viva la Bam, and Jess Margera, a drummer with the alternative metal band CKY. April Margera, an author, also owns the Rose Hip Barn in Thornton, which sells rehabbed furniture, homemade purses, and accessories for the home.

John Roman, a veteran crime reporter and author of the recent mystery Ink in His Blood, will be on hand after the talk to sign and sell his book. Roman, a former reporter for the Delaware County Daily Times and the Bulletin, was on hand for the standoff at the John E. duPont estate when Olympic wrestler David Schultz was shot and killed. He also focused on the use of DNA in criminal investigations.

The event will be at noon at Margaret Kuo's restaurant, 175 E. Lancaster Ave. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers and guests.
