Gloucester County workshops offer help with divorces

DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP A series of free workshops for those going through divorce will begin Jan. 14 at Gloucester County College.

The six sessions of the divorce recovery workshop are sponsored by the school's Center for People in Transition, and will be offered from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the College Center, 1400 Tanyard Rd., Sewell.

Free for those currently going through or considering divorce, the workshops will be led by Jennie McQuaide, a licensed counselor, who will focus on the emotional impact of marital separation, according to a news release from the school.

She will discuss techniques for coping with the stress of divorce, including feelings of loneliness and anger, as well as topics such as communicating with one's former spouse and responding to children's needs.
