Interfaith service to remember Newtown victims

CHERRY HILL The Unitarian Universalist Church of Cherry Hill will hold a memorial service Saturday morning, on the first anniversary of the Newtown, Conn., shootings that killed 26.

The service begins at 9 a.m. with a welcome by the Rev. Julie-Ann Silberman-Bunn, the associate minister. The Rev. Robert Moore, executive director of CeaseFire NJ Project's parent organization, also will speak. Other speakers include professionals who deal with the fallout of gun violence in their work lives and someone who has lost a family member to gun violence. The service will include music from the church choirs.

A "walking vigil" will follow, going through the neighborhood around the church, at 401 Kings Highway North. The event is interdenominational, the church said, composed of "an interfaith group united by the common goal of increasing peace through violence reduction." - Inquirer staff
