Burlco fire damages warehouse

A Burlington County warehouse occupied by the Christmas Tree Shops chain of stores was severely damaged in a blaze Saturday that took multiple fire companies three hours to control. No injuries were reported.

Investigators had not determined the cause of the Florence Township fire just south of the New Jersey Turnpike extension. The warehouse is a distribution point for the home-goods store chain owned by Bed Bath & Beyond.

Authorities reported responders were concerned about electrical risks from the warehouse's rooftop solar panels. Solar panels also impeded responders at a September blaze that gutted the Dietz & Watson plant in Delanco. - Andrew Maykuth
