Two Camden men arraigned in November killing

Two Camden men were arraigned Tuesday in Superior Court on charges of killing a Cherry Hill man in the city last month.

Michael Winters, 37, and Andrew Alford, 39, are accused of attacking and beating Gregory Holder, 44, around 11:45 p.m., Nov. 2, near Broadway and Berkley Street, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and city police said.

Holder apparently was beaten during a drug transaction, authorities said. He died Nov. 9 at Cooper University Hospital, becoming Camden's 58th homicide of the year. On Monday, a man shot in October died of his injuries, bringing the toll to 62.

A tipster helped authorities capture Winters and Alford. The men are being held on $2 million bail each in the Camden County Jail on murder charges.

Holder was a landscape architect who lived with his parents and struggled with addiction, his family said. He was a graduate of Cherry Hill High School East and Delaware Valley College.

Authorities ask anyone with information on the killing to contact Terry King, an investigator with the Prosecutor's Office, at 856-225-8523 or Camden Detective Brian Razzi at 856-757-7420.
