1 dead in E. Mount Airy shooting
A man was killed and another critically wounded in a double shooting Friday night in the city's East Mount Airy section, police said.
A man was killed and another critically wounded in a double shooting Friday night in the city's East Mount Airy section, police said.
Gunfire was reported at 8:34 p.m. in the 200 block of East Sharpnack Street, police said. A 23-year-old man was shot several times, including in the head. A 26-year-old man was shot numerous times in the upper torso and leg.
Both men were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, police said. The younger man was pronounced dead at 8:58. The other was listed in extremely critical condition. Police were told that at least one gunman fled in a green Mercury minivan, which was later found abandoned in the 200 block of Rosemary Lane in West Mount Airy.
