Chester County received three AAA bond ratings last week, the commissioners said Friday in a news release.
The ratings place Chester County in a league of its own in Pennsylvania, and among only 24 counties in the nation, the release said. The ratings are expected to result in millions of dollars in savings in the coming years, the release said.
The county received the ratings from Standard & Poor's, Fitch Ratings, and Moody's, the release said.
"Receiving AAA ratings from the three top bond-rating agencies is great news for Chester County, as well as for our school districts and municipal governments that will also benefit," Commissioners Chairman Terence Farrell said in the release. - Kathleen Brady Shea
