Kijafa Frink was touched by a little girl this summer, which she said prompted her commitment to give back to the Philadelphia community.
Sometime in August, a stylist Frink knew introduced her to a girl, who was dirty and had not been fed.
"My heart just sank so far down," Frink, 28, recalled. She rushed to her car and gave the girl some clothes and shoes that she had bought for her daughter Jada, who will be 5 this month.
"I thought about her all night, I can't imagine a child growing up like this," Frink said.
Now, Frink will host a fundraiser tomorrow for Cradles to Crayons at Totally Posh Boutique, on Main Street near Pensdale, in Manayunk.
The future Mrs. Michael Vick wanted to hold a charity event that would put her passion for fashion toward raising money for less fortunate children, she said. Her friend, promoter Morria Winn, suggested Cradles to Crayons, which supplies school supplies, clothes and toys to children living in poverty in Philadelphia.
A portion of sales from 5 to 8 p.m. will go directly to Cradles to Crayons and organizers will be accepting donations of cash and clothes for the nonprofit.For information call 215-482-7674.
