Five teens from the area are among 52 invited to the State Police Academy Commissioner's Honor Camp to study criminal investigation techniques and police skills, state police have announced.
Ryan Whitbeck of Quakertown, Samantha Chalupa of Landenberg, Edgar Garcia of Lincoln University, Francesca Memoli of Pottstown, and Aaron Rodriguez of Blue Bell were part of a group selected from 1,500 teens who had participated in local Camp Cadet programs last year.
The camp, created in 1998 to recognize the top two cadets from the local programs, will begin Sunday in Hershey and last for one week.
The teens will visit the Capitol, the governor's residence, state police headquarters, and Hershey's Chocolate World. - Mari A. Schaefer
