Haddonfield has won a contest aimed at boosting recycling in Camden County, officials said yesterday. The contest was sponsored by the freeholder board as part of its 2007 Green County Initiative.
"The board pledged to present $25,000 to the municipality that had the highest percentage of collected recyclables per household in 2007," said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. "Since the contest was based upon percentage per household, large and small municipalities had an equal change of winning the prize."
The Haddonfield commissioners will receive a $25,000 check from the freeholder board tonight at Borough Hall.
