Express from New York to A.C. to begin in '09

ATLANTIC CITY - Express weekend train service from New York City to Atlantic City will begin in early 2009. That's the word from the head of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

Tom Carver, executive director of the authority, says there are plenty of people in New York who won't ride a bus to Atlantic City, but will take a train. Referred to as ACES, the trains will be owned by a consortium of the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Caesars Atlantic City and Harrah's Resort Atlantic City.

The train will make one stop, in Newark. - AP

OPINION
Michael Smerconish: New York City is on the move, undertaking extraordinary measures to protect residents from themselves, and earning the envy of those of us in so-called second-class cities.
