Second arrest in beating of Geno's employee

A second man has been charged in the beating of a Geno's worker last month, Philadelphia police announced yesterday.

Michael Morrisson, 21, of Berwyn, Chester County, surrendered at the South Detective Division on Monday and was charged with criminal conspiracy, attempted murder, aggravated assault and related offenses. He is the second Main Line resident to be charged in the case. Last week, police charged Kevin Bacci, 19, of Devon, with similar offenses in connection with the Dec. 27 attack just outside the steak shop on South Ninth Street.

About 6:30 on the morning of the attack, Morrisson and Bacci verbally harassed the employee, police said. After a brief argument, one of the suspects flipped the victim onto his head, police said. The employee, who was not identified by police, suffered a fractured vertebra, broken bones, and loss of hearing.

Surveillance video captured the assailants before the attack and assisted investigators in tracking down the suspects.
