Winter weather advisory issued for Lehigh Valley

Heads up, holiday travelers: A winter weather advisory has been issued for the Lehigh Valley.

The National Weather Service is warning that snow and freezing rain are slated to hit the region this evening and overnight.

The advisory also covers the Poconos and northern New Jersey and is in effect from 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. Tuesday.

About one inch of snow is expected, along with ice accumulation from the freezing rain.

The weather service is advising travelers to expect slippery roads and limited visibility.

In Philadelphia, no hazardous weather is expected today or Christmas. But heavy rain and wind gusts are predicted for Wednesday afternoon and evening.
