SEPTA Cynwyd Line service to be restored this afternoon

SEPTA suspended service on the Cynwyd Regional Rail line due to switch problems this morning, but service will resume in the afternoon.

The transit agency began reporting delays on the line shortly after 7 a.m. and suspended service around 7:30 a.m.

The first train to Cynwyd will leave Suburban Station at 12:20 p.m., SEPTA said. The first train into Center City will leave Cynwyd at 12:54 p.m.

The Paoli-Thorndale Line was also experiencing switch problems Monday, beginning around 7 a.m. Riders on that line experienced delays of more than 20 minutes.

SEPTA reported at about 10 a.m. that the Paoli-Thorndale Line issues had been resolved.

Alternate routes for riders are available on SEPTA's website.

The agency is also providing updates on its Twitter account, @SEPTA.
