Today is likely to be the coldest day in Philadelphia since March, with the area seeing sub-30-degree temperatures for the first time this fall.

Overnight, the temperature at Philadelphia International Airport dropped to 29 degrees -- the first time the mercury has dipped below 30 since March 24, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday hit a low of 31 degrees, recorded at 11:12 p.m. That was the coolest temperature in the city since April 4, which also saw a low of 31.

And the day isn't expected to get much warmer.

The weather service is calling for a high of just 41 degrees today, 16 degrees below normal for the date.

That would be lowest high temperature in Philadelphia since March 21, when the high reached just 40 degrees.

A warm up is expected over the next few days through the weekend, however.

The weather service is forecasting highs of 53 degrees Thursday, 57 degrees Friday, 59 degrees Saturday and 62 degrees Sunday.
