Morning rain possible in Philadelphia

Morning showers are possible in the Philadelphia region today, but any rain is expected to move past the area by the afternoon.

The National Weather Service says there's a 60-percent chance of rain today, with showers most likely before 10 a.m.

The rest of the day should be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature of 72 degrees, the weather service says. The afternoon and evening are also expected to be breezy, with potential for some strong wind gusts.

And forecasters say the rest of the week will be sunny and pleasant, with temperatures rising throughout the week.

The weather service is calling for highs of 70 degrees on Tuesday, 75 on Wednesday, 78 on Thursday and 80 on Friday and Saturday. No rain is expected through the work week, though there's a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday.
