Kids hurt in E. Germantown school bus crash

Several children are being examined at a hospital after their school bus was involved in a crash with a truck in East Germantown.

Philadelphia police said the bus and truck crashed at the intersection of Ardleigh Street and Washington Lane shortly after 8 a.m.

There were 11 students, all between the ages of 6 and 12, on board the bus at the time.

Eight students were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center as a precaution, police said. Another bus picked up the other three students to take them to school.

The bus driver and two aides were also taken to Einstein. Their injuries weren't immediately known.

Police said the driver of the truck suffered a head laceration but refused treatment. A passenger in the truck was hospitalized for treatment of broken ribs.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
