Fetus found in Pa. pub bathroom

Authorities are investigating after an infant was found dead inside the bathroom of a Lehigh Valley bar this morning.

Police were dispatched to Starter's Pub in Lower Saucon Township shortly after 10 a.m. when someone reported that a baby inside a bag was found in a toilet, according to an emergency scanner recording.

Lower Saucon police said a fetus was discovered in the women's restroom at the pub, and the Northampton County Coroner's Office would determine the gestation stage.

The Northampton County District Attorney's Office said officials were investigating the child's death, but no other details were available. District Attorney John Morganelli told the Allentown Morning Call that his office was treating the incident as a crime.

Police were removing items from the bar this morning, the Lehigh Valley Express Times reports. Officers were also inspecting a large trash container behind the pub, according to the Morning Call.
