Cops: Driver hits parked cars to avoid gunfire in West Philly

A driver apparently struck several parked cars in West Philadelphia overnight in order to avoid gunfire.

Officers from were dispatched to a report of parked vehicles that were hit on the 1400 block of North Allison Street in the Carroll Park neighborhood at about 2:15 a.m., police said.

There was also a report of gunshots, police said, and investigators believe a pick-up truck swerved into multiple parked cars in order to avoid being hit by the gunfire.

The driver of the truck hasn't been located. Police have not identified any suspects in the shooting.

There were no reports of anyone being hit by the gunfire or injured when the truck crashed.

It wasn't immediately clear how many vehicles were hit or how badly they were damaged.
