Bolaris: Weekend, Eagles game forecast

Get ready for a dramatic reversal of temperatures this weekend.

The high pressure system that gave us a cool Friday will move off the coast allowing our winds to shift to a warm southwesterly direction. This will mean a quick burst of summer arriving this weekend as readings climb to summer-like levels of 80 degrees and above.

By Eagle Sunday we could climb into the low to mid 80s, along with increasing humidity. So wear your Green Eagle shorts to the game.

By Sunday evening a cold front will move in from the west and could lead to a few scattered showers and or storms to arrive towards evening. Computer models hint (rather strongly) that a tropical system will start to organize along the southeast coast this weekend and then begin tracking northeastward just off the coast.

Early indications suggest the system could intensify rather quickly as it moves near or just off the coast of North Carolina late Saturday. It's not out of the question that a tropical depression could form, perhaps evolving into tropical storm Fay.

Right now, the latest guidance would keep this possible tropical system off the coast of New Jersey sometime on Sunday. This would be the only fly in the ointment for the second half of the weekend and this would be more of a concern for shore locations.

The weekend forecast:

Saturday: Early clouds, then sun. Look for it to be warm with a high of about 80.

Sunday: Hazy sun, summertime breeze, very warm with the chance of a scattered shower or storm towards evening. High of 84.

Kick-off Eagle temp: 78
