Man dead in Burlco house fire

One person was found dead inside a Burlington County home after an overnight fire.

Firefighters were called the blaze on the 1100 block of Smithville Road in Eastampton at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, officials said.

A spokesman for the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said one person, identified only as an adult man, died.

The man's identity was still being determined.

Eastampton fire officials said the house was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived at the scene.

The prosecutor's office, Eastampton police, and county and state fire marshals are investigating the incident.
