Man killed in head-on crash in Bensalem

A 23-year-old man was killed when his car collided head-on with a tractor-trailer this morning in Bucks County.

The accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at Street and State roads in Bensalem.

Bensalem police said Michael Baronofsky, of Croydon, was driving his Honda Civic south on State Road when he got into a head-on crash at the intersection with a tractor-trailer that was in the northbound lane and turning left onto Street Road.

The truck driver wasn't injured in the crash.

Police said the accident remains under investigation, but drugs and alcohol don't appear to be factors. The tractor-trailer driver is cooperating with investigators, officials said.

The intersection is expected to remain closed until at least noon.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 215-633-3719.
