Amtrak, SEPTA resume full rail service through Frankford after junkyard fire
The fire disrupted service between Philadelphia and New York overnight.

Amtrak Northeast Corridor and SEPTA Trenton and Chestnut Hill West Line trains have resumed normal service through Northeast Philadelphia's Frankford section after a junkyard fire severely disrupted operations through the area overnight.
At least two Amtrak trains to New York were canceled Monday morning before the railroad announced a resumption of service.
The fire in the junkyard near Torresdale and Adams Avenues in Frankford was reported around 7 p.m. Sunday and declared under control about three hours later.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, the second major fire to hit a junkyard in the city this summer.
The cause of the latest fire is under investigation and city inspectors are expected to visit the site Monday to determined if the junkyard should be closed.
In an unrelated disruption, SEPTA suspended rail service between Thorndale and Malvern due to Amtrak rail problems for a time Monday morning. Riders were advised of possible delays after SEPTA reported at 7:15 a.m. that trains would resume operations between the affected stations.
