Based on a phone tip, police arrested the suspect at a house in North Philadelphia.
Philadelphia police have arrested a man who had been sought in the fatal stabbing of another man this month in SEPTA's Jefferson Station in Center City.
Based on a phone tip, police on Tuesday found 23-year-old Zair Bennet-Warrick at a house on the 1200 block of West Sergeant Street in North Philadelphia.
Bennet-Warrick was charged with murder and possession of an instrument of a crime in the Aug. 9 slaying of David Simpson, 28.
A week after the slaying, police identified Bennet-Warrick as a suspect and announced they were seeking him.
Simpson, of the 2500 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue, was stabbed at least four times just after 3 a.m. Aug. 9 during what police called a "very violent struggle" on the platform for Tracks 1 and 2 in the B section of the underground station. The incident was recorded on surveillance video.
Simpson was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:16 that morning.
