Snapchat sex-assault suspect charged in 2nd attack

Officials say the latest victim alleged she was drugged and assaulted at Mason Mellon's home last year.

Mason Mallon, 24, who was arrested Aug. 19 and charged with aggravated sexual assault after police were alerted to a Snapchat post showing an alleged victim unconscious, has been charged with another sexual assault, this time involving a 17-year-old girl, officials said Wednesday.

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gibbsboro Police Chief Justin Tomaszewski said in a joint statement that the latest alleged victim reported being physically and sexually assaulted by Mallon on March 1, 2016. Like the first alleged victim, who is 18, the second female said she was assaulted at Mallon's home on the 100 block of West Clementon Road in Gibbsboro, offficials said.

The girl was acquainted with Mallon and reported that soon after he gave her a drink, she could not move, according to the statement. She said that while she was unable to move, he sexually assaulted her.

Mallon was charged Tuesday with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree aggravated assault, criminal restraint, and endangering the welfare of a child in March 2016.

In August, Mallon was charged with aggravated sexual assault and aggravated assault after an 18-year-old female was found in his bedroom "bruised, disoriented, and covered in blood," Camden County prosecutors said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information may contact Detective Allison Dube-Smith of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at 856-225-7105.
