In separate cases this month, cellphone apps helped police in Pennsylvania and New Jersey rescue two victims of sexual assault.

In Gibbsboro, Camden County, police charged Mason Mallon, 24, with sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman after the woman's friend saw a photo of her on Mallon's Snapchat account on Saturday. The woman appeared to be unconscious, police said, so the friend called police and sent them to Mallon's home on the 100 block of West Clementon Road.

The teenager was found in his bedroom "bruised, disoriented, and covered in blood," Camden County prosecutors wrote in a news release.

Mallon has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal restraint and related charges. He was being held in the Camden County Jail Thursday.

In Bensalem, also on Saturday, police arrested Christopher Henneghan, 23,  of Collingdale, after a woman texted 911 for help abut 6:40 a.m., saying she had been sexually assaulted and was still in the room with her assailant.

Police said Henneghan had held the woman captive, punched her in the head, choked her, and threatened her with a steak knife. The woman texted police that she was in a bedroom and unable to escape.

Police were able to use the GPS on her cellphone to find her.

Henneghan was taken into custody with the help of Collingdale police and the FBI. He faces numerous charges,  including rape, indecent assault, unlawful restraint, and unlawful imprisonment. He was arraigned and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10 million.
