A 29-year-old home-care worker has been charged with endangering her 74-year-old patient after overdosing on heroin while at work, Upper Darby police said.

Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told the Delaware County Daily Times that the patient, who is wheelchair-bound, saved Amber Graziano's life by calling 911 after she found the home-care worker unconscious about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

A police officer who responded to the house found what appeared to be heroin near Graziano and administered Narcan, police said.

Graziano, of Ridley Park, was charged with reckless endangerment and drug offenses.

She was jailed after not posting bail, which was set at 10 percent of $35,000, according to her court docket sheet.

A preliminary hearing has been set for March 29.
