Police hunt for escaped prisoner in North Philly

A police manhunt was underway Tuesday night for a shooting suspect who escaped from custody in North Philadelphia. Lamac Conde, 19, was in police custody at 10th and Russell Streets when he managed to flee just after 7:45 p.m.

A police manhunt was underway Tuesday night for a shooting suspect who escaped from custody in North Philadelphia.

Lamac Conde, 19, was being held at 10th and Russell Streets when he managed to flee just after 7:45 p.m.

Conde was a suspect in a shooting that occurred about 7:10 p.m. in the 4000 block of L Street in Juniata Park. A 24-year-old man was shot once in the left chest and was taken by private vehicle to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. He was listed in stable condition and was expected to be transferred to Temple University Hospital.

Conde was described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, about 150 pounds, with a red tattoo above his right eye that says "FAMILY" and several tattoos around his neck. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt and blue jeans.
