Lawyers for imprisoned Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill on Friday filed their latest appeal to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania asking that he be released on bail while he appeals the two- to four-year prison sentence for probation violations handed down last month by Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley.

The lawyers for the rapper born Robert Williams disputed every reason Brinkley cited for sending him to prison.

The rapper is not a flight risk given that he is a lifelong member of the Philadelphia community who is being supported by the likes of fellow rapper Jay-Z and Michael Rubin, co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, the lawyers wrote in their brief. They said Mill has no history of bail violations, or attempted escapes and he's too famous to flee.

"Because of his celebrity, Mr. Williams is known on sight to hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. For all practical purposes, it would be impossible for him to flee or hide, even if he were inclined to do so," the lawyers wrote.
