A man was shot to death with an assault rifle at a housing project in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.
Just after 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, police and medics were called to the 5600 block of Gibson Drive and found the victim face down on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his head and torso, Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
Medics pronounced the man, identified Thursday as 28-year-old Kareem Singleton, dead at the scene.
Police found multiple shell casings for assault-rifle rounds about 25 to 30 feet away in the grass in the Bartram Village complex.
No motive for the slaying was known and no description of any suspects was available.
