City shootings leave one teen boy dead, another wounded

Separate city shootings Wednesday night left a 17-year-old boy dead and 16-year-old boy in critical condition, police said.

Separate city shootings Wednesday night left a 17-year-old boy dead and 16-year-old boy in critical condition, police said.

Just before 7:30 p.m., the older teen was shot in the head and chest while outside in the 6700 block of North 17th Street in West Oak Lane. He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center by police and was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m.

He was identified Wednesday as as Antoine Coleman, of the 6700 block of North 16th Street.

About 8:20 p.m., the 16-year-old was outside in the 1400 block of South Etting Street in South Philadelphia when he was shot multiple times in the groin.

He was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and was listed in critical but stable condition.

The victims' names were not released, and police had no other details, including motives for the shootings.
