Body of woman dumped in trash bag in Tioga

Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found partially in a trash bag under a train trestle in Philadelphia's Tioga section.

A passerby made the discovery on the 1800 block of West Westmoreland Street about 1 a.m.

The woman had suffered trauma to her face, head and lower torso, police said. The bottom half of the body was in a trash bag.

The woman had no identification on her and police are trying to determine her name.
