Woman fatally stabbed in Kensington identified

A woman fatally stabbed a week ago in Kensington has been identified as 25-year-old Alexandria Knebel of Bristol, Bucks County.

Knebel was stabbed twice in her chest and once in her abdomen about 2:20 a.m. May 23 while at J and Tioga Streets, police said. She was taken in a private vehicle to Aria Health-Frankford Campus, then transferred by medics to Aria Health-Torresdale Campus, where she was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m.

Police said Tuesday they still had no motive or possible suspects in the woman's slaying.

Tributes to Knebel on social media described her as a mother of a young son.
