Cosi, Arby’s, Pizza Hut among the Philadelphia eateries closed for violations

The usual live roaches and dead mice kept Philadelphia health inspectors busy as they closed 47 facilities for various violations between August 1 and August 15.

Rain leaking from the kitchen hood into cooking oil and baskets in deep fryer, a sippy cup of milk stored with raw chicken and food items wrapped in newspaper, helped close some of Philly's finest eateries.

Of course there were still the usual live roaches and dead mice that kept Philadelphia health inspectors busy as they closed 47 facilities for various violations between August 1 and August 15. And some familiar names — Cosi, Arby's, Manhattan Bagel, Pizza Hut, Sketch Burger and Han Dynasty of Manayunk — made the list.

The inspectors visit nearly 1,000 eateries and food retailers every two weeks. Each inspection is generally regarded as a snapshot in time, and not necessarily a reflection of day-to-day conditions. Most violations were corrected immediately in the presence of an inspector.
