Two dead, one injured by gunfire in West Philadelphia, police say

A shooting Sunday night in the Carroll Park section of West Philadelphia left two men dead and another person wounded, according to police.

Police said gunfire broke out shortly after 8 p.m. on the 6200 block of Media Street. Three men were struck and rushed by private vehicle to Lankenau Medical Center.

One man, 24, was shot once in the head and twice in the chest. He died shortly before 8:30 p.m. A second man, also 24, was shot once each in the chest and side. He was initially hospitalized in critical condition but died around 9:40 p.m.

The third victim, 22, was shot once in the right thigh and placed in stable condition.

Investigators said no weapon was recovered from the scene and no arrests had been made Sunday night. There's not yet word on what led to the shooting.
