A photo purportedly snapped of the dead suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, as he lies dead on a medical table has surfaced on the Internet and TMZ is reporting that law enforcement sources have confirmed it's Tsarnaev.

The gruesome photo first surfaced on Reddit today — but has since been removed — and was supposedly snapped sometime shortly after Tsarnaev, 26, died at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston. TMZ said in a report calling the photo legitimate that the person who posted it to Reddit initially said it was taken by a "'friend' who worked downtown" in Boston.

The image shows a white male lying face up on a metal table with multiple wounds, most noticeably a huge gash on his left side, covering most of his rib cage. His face is charred black and he has several wounds that appear to be bullet entrance wounds.

The photo is no longer posted on Reddit, but can be found by searching the web. Philly.com has chosen not to show the image at this time.
