Smoke stops plane's takeoff at Philadelphia International Airport
A Delta airplane preparing for takeoff from the Philadelphia International Airport had to be recalled after smoke was reported in the plane Saturday morning.
According to airport spokesperson Victoria Lupica, the airplane had just left the gate and was taxiing for takeoff in route for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport when smoke was reported within the cockpit.
Emergency fire crews met the plane at the taxi way, and once the smoke dissipated, the plane returned to the gate where all 159 passengers were evaluated and released by medical personnel.
No injures have been reported, and fire crews are currently investigating the cause of the smoke.
