Roads blocked around Warminster apartment complex after gunfire

Police have blocked off all roads surrounding a stretch of East Street Road in Warminster where a man with a gun has reportedly fired shots at police, a dispatcher with the Bucks County emergency communications department said this evening.

Police blocked off all roads surrounding an apartment complex on East Street Road in Warminster where a man with a gun has reportedly fired shots at police, a dispatcher with the Bucks County emergency communications department said this evening.

An unconfirmed report just before 11 p.m. said an elderly woman inside an apartment where a suspect barricaded himself was found dead. A woman who answered the phone at 11 p.m. at the Warminster police department would not confirm a fatality but said the scene was likely cleared by officers by that time.

The gunfire began sometime after 8 p.m. Tuesday night in the 600 block of East Street Road, also known as Route 132, according to an initial report.

A local newspaper was reporting that an armed man barricaded himself inside at home in the Jefferson on the Creek apartments on Street Road and that police halted all access from Centennial to Davisville roads.

A county emergency dispatcher said at 9 p.m. all roads around a barricade suspect were shut down by police. She added that there were no reports yet of any injuries to police or the public.
