Reputed dealer arrested for overdose death

Police on Thursday arrested a suspect for allegedly selling heroin that led to the overdose death of a Bordentown Township man.

Police on Thursday arrested a suspect for allegedly selling heroin that led to the overdose death of a Bordentown Township man.

Michael Davis, 32, was taken into custody in Bordentown City. Investigators said Davis sold heroin to an unnamed 22-year-old man who fatally overdosed Dec. 20.

Davis is charged with first-degree strict liability for a drug-induced death, along with heroin possession and distribution. He was imprisoned Thursday at the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Davis' arrest was one in a series of busts over the past two months that resulted in the arrests of four other reputed drug dealers, according to police.

Bordentown Township Police Chief Frank Nucera Jr. said in a statement the department will continue to "take an aggressive approach" to investigating drug crimes.
