A shooting in Kensington left a seven-months-pregnant woman in the hospital Monday night, police said.
Shortly after 9 p.m., the victim was shot once in the left leg on Reach Street near Allegheny Avenue and taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition, according to police. Police said that the woman appeared to be an innocent bystander.
Police said they have made no arrests, but have two witnesses.
Monday night's victim is the third woman who was seven months pregnant shot in the city in the last six weeks and the second in the last week. Last Wednesday, a 26-year-old pregnant woman was shot in the leg on Bucknell Street near Montgomery Avenue and in May, another woman was wounded in a quadruple shooting on Etting Street near Dickinson in South Philadelphia. All three victims in the unrelated incidents suffered non-life-threatning injuries.
Almost seems like you're trying to start a trend: non fatally shooting pregnant women?
Why else would you point out this pattern? Hoping some sicko wants to add to the list? ghostinthemachine99- This comment has been deleted.

its hard to tell if they are gunshots or illegal fireworks. cerberus413
We have TWO victims here. The pregnant woman who was shot, and the person who shot her. But the MEDIA doesn't want you to know. They make it seem like the shooter is AT FAULT. But we know he was driven to pick up that gun and shoot that pregnant woman as a result of CENTURIES OF OPPRESSION. That's right. Read MLK. Read X. Fight the REAL power. The Usual Suspects
I guess they're such big targets and hard to miss. Commentdant_Klink
